By Swing to Tarchomin

“Sausages” and “aquariums” as the old trams (13N and 105N) are tenderly called, have become an inseparable element of the city landscape. Residents of Białołęka will not see them, however, outside their windows. The route from Młociny to Tarchomin will be served by ultramodern Swings (120Na trams) produced by PESA Company from Bydgoszcz.

Swing will revolutionize look and comfort of using public transport in Warsaw – said the President of Warsaw Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz on June,12 when the first tram 120Na was starting to operate. In 2011 residents of Tarchomin, Nowodworów and other districts of Białołęka will benefit from the revolution. There will be over thirty (31-32) Swings operating on the route from Młociny.

Modern tram is fully air-conditioned and equipped with visional monitoring, modern LCD displays with passenger information and a ticket machine. Every tramcar can take 201 passengers (including 40 seats). A low-floor tram is fully adjusted to the needs of the disabled. It is also very safe because of a special crumple zone (absorbers consuming energy during a crash) which protects the tram driver and passengers from more severe damage.
