Warsaw IC Ticket

"Bilet warszawski IC" is a special offer for the passengers who travel by PKP InterCity trains in Poland – this including TLK, Express InterCity (EIC) and Euro City (EC) trains – in the first or second class. It also enables the use of public transport for 60 minutes- buses, trams, the underground and SKM trains within the area of the first zone. The ticket is valid on the day of the arrival or the departure from Warsaw only. In order to make it valid, make sure the departure time is handwritten before your journey begins. You are obliged to do it upon entering the ZTM vehicle.

The purchase of the ticket

You may buy the ticket in the ticket office or directly from the ticket inspector in the train. It includes the purchase of a one way ticket in national connections from or to Warsaw only. A special pattern is demanded with the „Bilet IC warszawski” imprint
and the following inscription: „W Strefie 1 ZTM Warszawa ważny 60 min. od godz. …” (in English: 'Ticket is valid during 60 min. in the first zone from)

Honoring of the ticket
Apart from travels by PKP trains, the ticket entitles its owner to travel by Warsaw public transport (ZTM).

  • 'from' Warsaw – is honored in the area of the first zone on the day it was validated 60 minutes from the hour entered by the passenger, before the departure of the train from Warsaw.
  •  'to' Warsaw – is honored in the area of the first zone on the day it was validated 60 minutes from the hour entered by the passenger after the arrival of the train to Warsaw.

Bilet Warszawski is not honored in Koleje Mazowieckie trains, Warszawska Kolej Dojazdowa trains and in the bus transport of the County of Łomianki.

Ticket Validity
Before the travel by ZTM public transport, the passenger is obliged to write by hand the departure time so as to make it readable.

If the passenger does not enter the hour or the hour is illegible or impermanent  or he/she enters it after the journey has already started the ticket is invalid.

Ticket inspection

You are obliged to show your ticket during the journey to the ticket inspector. Otherwise you will be treated as a passenger with no valid ticket in accordance with
the provisions stipulated in the regulations.
The invalid ticket will be described by a ZTM ticket inspector. The inspector will enter the date and time of the inspection, sign it and stamp with the use of the official stamp, thus making it impossible to use it again.
Tickets which are damaged or illegible are considered invalid. No money shall be returned in such a case.

Warsaw PR ticket

“Warsaw ticket” is a special offer for passengers travelling by Przewozy Regionalne trains (interREGIO and REGIOekspres) to and from the capital. Holders of such tickets can use all the means of the ZTM public transport (buses, trams, metro and SKM trains) in ticket zone 1.

Warsaw ticket is valid for 60 minutes, only on a day of the journey in a chosen train – before the departure from Warsaw or after the arrival in it. The ticket is honored on condition that the hour when it starts to be valid is handwritten on it. You have to do it before the departure of a ZTM vehicle.

Ticket purchase

The ticket - exclusively for a one-way journey - can be bought at a ticket office or from the train staff. It has a special pattern with a printed inscription “Bilet warszawski” and the following text: Bilet przez 60 minut od godz......(Ticket valid for 60 minutes from.......).

It entitles you to travel in ZTM zone 1 by vehicles of the ZTM public transport, i.e. buses, trams, metro and SKM trains in Warsaw.

Honoring of a ticket

The ticket, apart from travelling by Przewozy Regionalne trains, entitles you to travel by public transport:

  • “from” Warsaw – it is honored in ZTM zone 1, on its validity day, for 60 minutes from the hour indicated by a traveler, before the planned departure of a train from Warsaw,
  • “to” Warsaw – it is honored in ZTM zone 1, on its validity day, for 60 minutes from the hour indicated by a traveler, after arriving in Warsaw.

Warsaw ticket is not honored on trains operated by Koleje Mazowieckie and Warszawska Kolej Dojazdowa.

Validity of the ticket

You can use the ticket until midnight  on a day of a train journey.

Before starting the journey by ZTM, a passenger is obliged to write permanently and legibly on a ticket the hour of its validity in ticket zone 1.

Lack of the annotation or placing it after entering into a transport agreement with ZTM make the ticket invalid.

Ticket inspection

A passenger who does not show a valid ticked during the inspection is regarded as a traveler without a valid ticket, according to the rules and conditions stipulated in the regulations of the given carrier.

When a ZTM ticket inspector finds the ticket invalid, he describes this ticket by marking the date and the hour of the inspection, giving his signature and stamping  it with an official stamp so that it is impossible to write the hour on the ticket annotation again.

A passenger travelling in Przewozy Regionalne trains on the basis of the 50 % discount ticket is obliged to have a valid document entitling to fare discounts.

A passenger travelling in Przewozy Regionalne trains on the basis of a ticket issued for a REGIOkarta (REGIO card) and a REGIOkarta Senior (REGIO card Senior) is obliged to hold a valid card.

A passenger who does not show a valid document during the inspection is regarded as a traveler without a valid ticket.

Destroyed or illegible tickets are considered invalid and paid fares are not returned.
