The main Fan Zone in Warsaw at the Euro 2012 European Football Championships will be created around the Palace of Culture and Science. This will be a place where fans can safely watch matches and have fun together.
The Fan Zone in Warsaw will be created at the Parade Square around the Palace of Culture and Science, which is in the center of town. The size of the available area, its safety, transport connections, proximity to the National Stadium (a distance of about 3 km, 7-minute tram ride or 30-minute walk) and the traditions of organizing mass events were the main arguments behind this decision. The Warsaw Fan Zone will cover the area of approximately 120 thousand. sq. m. and it will have the capacity of about 100 thousand fans. On the days when there will be no matches, it is estimated that the Fan Zone in Warsaw will be visited by 20 - 30 thousand fans each day.
You will find the following in the Fan Zone :
13 entrances and exits will lead to the Fan Zone. The area will be fenced.
The opening of the Fan Zone will take place on 7 June 2012, and the closing will probably take place on July 2.
